Добрия стар файлов менажер Windows Commander вече е с ново име и нова версия - Total Commander 5.5. Причината за смяната на името е позната - Microsoft. Оказва се, че името Windows било запазена марка и водело към асоциации, че това е техен продукт. Подробностите може да видите тук.
Какво е новото:
- File system plugins allow to access PocketPC devices, other file systems etc.
- Descriptions can be created for files, and will be copied with the files
- NTFS file streams will now be copied with the files
- RTF-Viewer in Lister
- Open partially downloaded ZIP archives (while a download is still in progress)
- Improvements to Synchronize dirs, multi-rename tool, ftp client and many other parts of the program
